History of College Football All-Star Games |
| The Chicago Charitities College All-Star Game was a pre-season game played from 1934 through 1978. The event matched the NFL and a team of college all-stars from the previous year. The first game, played before a crowd of 79,432 on August 31, 1934, ended in a scoreless tie. Over the years, events such as the Blue-Gray Football Classic, East-West Shrine Game, Hula Bowl, Aztec Bowl, Snowball Ball and Senior Bowl emerged. The recent recession has taken its toll as only three remain. |
